PV Feasibility Study
NW Unitarian, a Church located in Atlanta, GA was looking to install PV on the sanctuary as a visible showing of the congregation’s commitment to the environment and sustainability, The Grounds & Facilities committee engaged Greenspeed Energy to provide consultive services on the financial benefits and feasibility analysis for the project. Greenspeed presented its analysis and documentation to the Committee, which in turn was instrumental in convincing the congregation to gain full support of the PV Project.

Renewable Energy
The newly installed PV system is rated at approximately 3,700 watts (3.7KW). With an estimated 4.5 hours per day of sunshine, the system will generate 6,100 KWH annually, reducing the Church’s dependancy of grid power by 18%.

Key Benefits
The PV panels are displayed prominently on the high pitched roof of the sanctuary, advocating renewable green power and sending a positive environmental me s s a g e to the sur rounding community.

Sustainability - Environmental Benefits
The annual clean energy produce by the PV system results in an equivalent of reducing 2 tons of CO2, or can be viewed as the equivalent of planting 2 acres of trees, permanently removing a vehicle from our roadways or reducing the use of 552 gallons of gasoline.
